Courses Offered and Objectives

BJ’s Beauty & Barber Colleges are continually updating its training program and schedules guest artists frequently to meet the demands of the ever changing industry.  Our intent is to provide training in order to increase the students’ ability to achieve and maintain employment within the industry of which they are trained.

Cosmetology – 1800 Hour Program
- Offered in Tacoma & Puyallup Campuses

1. Upon successful completion of our cosmetology program, students may be employed as follows:
2. In a salon as a cosmetologists.
3. Managing or owning a salon.
4. As a specialists in any phase of cosmetology.
5. As a manufacturers representative for products.
6. As a guest artist or demonstrator at trade and technical shows.

Barber – 1100 Hour Program
- Offered at Tacoma Campus

1. Upon successful completion of the barbering program, students may be employed as follows:
2. As a hairdesigner in a salon or barber shop.
3. Managing or owning a salon or barber shop.
4. As a manufacturers representative for hair care products.

Esthetician – 600 Hour Program
- Offered in Puyallup only

1. Upon successful completion of the esthetic program, students may be employed as follows:
2. Performing facial and skin care treatments in a salon or spa.
3. Assist in medical clinics.
4. As a manufacturers representative for skin care products

Teacher Training – 600 Hour Program
- Offered at Tacoma location only.

1. Upon successful completion of the Teacher trainee program students may be employed as follows:
2. In a school of Cosmetology/Barbering/Manicuring/Esthetics/Teacher Trainee training as an Teacher.
3. Manager or Owner of a Cosmetology/Barbering/Manicuring/Esthetic school.
4. As a manufactures representative for professional products.
5. As a guest Teacher or platform artist at trade or technical shows.
